Chickenpox (Varilrix)
Varilrix- a live vaccine, is used in children from the age of 9 months and adults to prevent chickenpox. It causes the body to develop immunity by producing antibodies.
- Persons to whom vaccination is particularly recommended:
- The vaccine is recommended in healthy individuals and in patients belonging to high-risk influenza patients (at risk of severe chickenpox):
- patients with leukaemia
- patients receiving drugs that reduce immunity (immunosuppressive therapy)
- patients scheduled for organ transplants
- patients with severe chronic diseases
- people in close contact with high-risk patients
- travellers: people going to areas with a high incidence of chickenpox
- The vaccine is recommended in healthy individuals and in patients belonging to high-risk influenza patients (at risk of severe chickenpox):
- Age indications:
from the age of 9 months - Vaccination schedule:
children from 9 months of age, adults - 2 doses at least 6 weeks apart. Patients in high-risk groups may need additional doses of vaccine.
