Preparation
  • You should not take painkillers on the day of the examination.
  • You should bring with you the results of any imaging studies you have done so far, neurophysiological and laboratory tests, if any.
Description of the study
Badanie diagnostyczne oceniające przewodzenie w nerwach obwodowych oraz czynność mięśni, badanie połączeń nerwowo-mięśniowych w zaburzeniach neurologicznych i ortopedycznych. Podczas stymulacji włókien ruchowych nerwu fala pobudzenia przemieszcza się nie tylko do mięśnia, lecz także, do komórek ruchowych rogów przednich. Odbija się tam ona jak echo i  dociera do mięśnia jako tzw. fala F. Przy pobudzeniu obwodowym fala pobudzenia przebiega niemal dwukrotnie przez całą długość nerwu.
Contraindications:
  • an implanted electrical pacemaker,
  • metal components in the heart (e.g. an artificial valve),
  • metal components in the body area examined, e.g. endoprostheses.
