    Description of the study

    Zalety gastroskopii przeznosowej:
    • The transnasal gastroscope is only 6 mm thick, which is almost half the thickness of a classical gastroscope without loss of imaging quality,
    • During the examination through the nose, the gastroscope does not touch the tongue, so it does not induces vomiting reflex, which is the most poorly tolerated during classic gastroscopy,
    • the patient can speak freely throughout the examination,
    • can ask the doctor questions and keep you informed about This increases the safety of the examination,
    • proper local anaesthesia of the nose allows almost painless introduction of the gastroscope,
    • Approximately 90 percent of patients who are offered both methods of examination by their doctor choose transnasal gastroscopy.
    Indications:
    • occurrence of dyspeptic symptoms (abdominal pain, belching, flatulence, heartburn),
    • suspected gastric or duodenal ulcer,
    • suspicion of malignant disease based on presenting symptoms general,
    • in dysphagia (difficulty swallowing),
    • suspected or present gastrointestinal bleeding,
    • suspected drug-induced damage to the mucous membrane of the upper gastrointestinal tract,
    • as a check-up to evaluate advanced disease, e.g. in varices of the esophageal varices, gastric and duodenal ulcers.
    Contraindications:
    • taking antibiotics as they may interfere with the test, the patient may perform the test at least 5 days after stopping antibiotics,
    • fresh heart attack,
    • acute coronary insufficiency,
    • respiratory and circulatory failure, severe arrhythmias,
    • clinical picture of "acute abdomen",
    • Aortic aneurysm and early period after abdominal surgery.
